Fast & accurate results in drilling

Drill safely and with control. A drill press is a useful addition to any hobby workshop. It makes drilling precise holes in a wide variety of materials, such as hardwood or metal, easy. This is ensured by the depth stop, adjustable in millimeters, and the stable 80 mm spindle stroke.

For precise drilling, the workpiece is clamped in the included vise. This ensures that both the drill bit and the workpiece are securely positioned. Thanks to the efficient leverage of the three-armed swivel base, minimal effort is required for drilling. The solid base plate measures 34 x 30 cm and can be securely attached to the workbench.

Everything at a glance: Digital display for easy operation

For those who want to work with exceptional precision and cleanliness, a digital display on the bench drill is essential. The digital display of the WALTER 900 W bench drill is intuitive to use and offers the following functions:

  • Speed: The variable and stepless speed control from 220 to 2580 rpm allows the speed to be ideally adjusted to the planned drilling work. This prevents the material from splintering or shattering.
  • Drilling depth: The current status of the drilling can be read here at any time.
  • LED work light: This illuminates the drilling area perfectly. Especially practical in poorly lit rooms.
  • Cross line laser: A positioning laser ensures maximum precision and makes it easier to position the drill correctly. It projects a drilling point onto the workpiece from above.
  • Zero point: For drilling to a uniform depth. Easily adjustable with the push of a button.

The drilling depth, or depth stop, is adjusted mechanically via the clamping screw. To do this, the height of the machine head is adjusted, the zero point is set, and the clamping lever is tightened again. This locks the desired drilling depth in place.

The correct speed when drilling

Achieve optimal results and minimize tool wear by paying attention to the correct cutting speed. The correct feed rate and spindle speed are crucial for the drill bit's service life. A good rule of thumb is to reduce the spindle speed for larger drill diameters. Furthermore, the harder the material, the higher the required cutting pressure. The feed is controlled manually via the operating lever.

  • For hard workpieces, reduce feed rate and speed and cool the drill bit with drilling oil.
  • For deep drilling (greater than twice the drill diameter), reduce the feed rate and speed. Repeatedly retract the drill bit to improve chip removal.
  • For holes larger than 8 mm, pre-drilling is recommended.

High-performance & safe working

The robust construction with the extremely powerful 900 watt motor delivers plenty of power and therefore sufficient force for drilling metals.

Thanks to the included solid base plate, the drill press stands securely. This is easily attached to the workbench. It has four pre-drilled holes for this purpose and can be firmly fastened to the work surface with screws and nuts. The workpiece is also held securely in place thanks to the included vise.

Various drill bits can be easily clamped into the highly stable, quick-release metal chuck. The clamping range is from 1.5 mm to 13 mm and is ideal for almost all DIY projects.

Advantages of a bench drill
