For those who want to work with exceptional precision and cleanliness, a digital display on the bench drill is essential. The digital display of the WALTER 900 W bench drill is intuitive to use and offers the following functions:

  • Speed: The variable and stepless speed control from 220 to 2580 rpm allows the speed to be ideally adjusted to the planned drilling work. This prevents the material from splintering or shattering.
  • Drilling depth: The current status of the drilling can be read here at any time.
  • LED work light: This illuminates the drilling area perfectly. Especially practical in poorly lit rooms.
  • Cross line laser: A positioning laser ensures maximum precision and makes it easier to position the drill correctly. It projects a drilling point onto the workpiece from above.

The drilling depth, or depth stop, is adjusted mechanically via the clamping screw. To do this, the height of the machine head is adjusted, the zero point is set, and the clamping lever is tightened again. This locks the desired drilling depth in place.

Achieve optimal results and minimize tool wear by paying attention to the correct cutting speed. The correct feed rate and spindle speed are crucial for the drill bit's service life. A good rule of thumb is to reduce the spindle speed for larger drill diameters. Furthermore, the harder the material, the higher the required cutting pressure. The feed is controlled manually via the operating lever.

  • For hard workpieces, reduce feed rate and speed and cool the drill bit with drilling oil.
  • For deep drilling (greater than twice the drill diameter), reduce the feed rate and speed. Repeatedly retract the drill bit to improve chip removal.
  • For holes larger than 8 mm, pre-drilling is recommended.
