Take responsibility with factory-tested tools from WALTER

Respectful and sustainable resource management has always been a core principle at WALTER and is one of the fundamental elements of the company's philosophy. Efficient workflows and processes are therefore continuously reviewed and optimized.

Responsible use of resources

The sustainable use of resources and raw materials is one of WALTER's core environmental principles. In Europe, returned WALTER tools and equipment – from angle grinders to car jump starters – are thoroughly inspected, repaired if necessary, and reintroduced into the market as refurbished goods. Naturally, these products also offer the highest WALTER quality and are covered by the statutory warranty.

Further strengthen sustainability principles

“With this measure, we are actively contributing to resource conservation through tool refurbishment and simultaneously sending a strong message of sustainability. In keeping with the ‘Repair, Reuse, Recycle’ principle, WALTER is clearly taking responsibility and transforming returned products into new, reusable ones – all at an unbeatable price. Naturally, the usual WALTER quality is guaranteed. In this way, WALTER manages to handle tools efficiently and conserve resources, further strengthening its commitment to sustainability,” explains WALTER Managing Director Georg Lex.

Which products are fully refurbished and tested?

Category B or C products that have been returned to WALTER due to minor defects are inspected, repaired if necessary, cleaned and made ready for use in the next DIY project.

Product categorization:

  • Category A: New goods
  • Category B: New goods with damaged packaging
  • Category C: used and refurbished goods

"The sale of B and C grade goods alone has saved around 49 tons of CO₂ since 2016. This corresponds to about 16 hectares of forest or 4,000 trees."

How is the WALTER quality check carried out and how are the products labelled?

Naturally, only items that meet WALTER's quality standards are put into circulation. To ensure this, they undergo a rigorous pre-use check. "Our products are thoroughly inspected, repaired if necessary, cleaned, and made ready for their next use. Only after successfully passing this quality check are these items returned to the market. At WALTER, we understand this as the Cycle Economy. Furthermore, this approach not only protects the environment but also saves our customers money. The advantages are clear: Customers receive a tested WALTER quality product (including warranty) at an unbeatable price – up to 60% off the list price," concludes Managing Director Georg Lex.

WALTER is thus fully committed to the principles of the circular economy, in which sustainable resource use minimizes waste production, emissions, and energy waste, among other things, by closing energy and material loops. Incidentally, these products are marked with a special seal – the "Multibrand Repacked" badge.
